He received the Muaz Mahmud Award from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan last Wednesday (October 30) local time. After 2016, our Bangladesh has excelled in this competition of Turkey. Hafez Muaz Mahmud was selected as the sole representative of Bangladesh for the Turkey International Hifzul Quran Competition after winning the first place in the qualifiers after a competition under the auspices of the Islamic Foundation at National Mosque Baitul Mukarram on March 28. Hafez Muaz graduated from Markazu Faizil Quran Al Islami, Madrasa located in Mirpur-1, Dhaka. He is still studying in the book department of the Madrasah. Bangladesh won first place among 123 countries in the 44th International Quran Competition in Makkah on August 21 this year. At that time too, Hafeez Muaz Mahmood won the first position in the 15-para group. Last year i.e. 2023, Hafez Muaz Mahmood participated in Nahbemir Jamaat in 46th Central Befaq Examination and obtained merit list. Hafez Muaz is our pride and the pride of our country.
